Inspiring Enterprise Challenge

Applications are now open for our Inspiring Enterprise Challenge 2019, sponsored by South Lanarkshire Economic Development and UK Steel Enterprise.  The descriptor gives you all the information on the 2 week programme which will take place from Monday 22 July – Thursday 1 August.  This is the 8th year that the Challenge has been running and we welcome applications from all schools.

Previous applicants have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and in particular, working with the businesses on the tasks.  We also have lots of fun as we appreciate it’s the pupils’ holidays!

Each year we film the 2 weeks and this is usually done for us by a pupil who has an interest in film production or photography.  It provides that student with an excellent show reel to use for college applications etc.  If you have a student who’d like to apply for this post, complete this application form.  Last year’s film can be viewed on YouTube by following this link.

The programme is FREE to enter and all lunches are provided.  All the pupils have to do is meet us at Council HQ at Almada Street at 9.30am each weekday and we return at 3.30pm.  Transport to all the business venues in Lanarkshire from Council HQ will be provided Free of charge.  Pupils will also be given 2 Polo shirts to wear during the programme so we have a group identity when out at business premises.

Interested pupils should send me their application form by email before 26 April and then I won’t contact them again until after SQA exams are over!  Interviews will take place in South Lanarkshire Council, Montrose House, Hamilton on 5 June.

Applications will be accepted from S4-S6 pupils or mature S3 pupils can be considered.
