I am pleased to welcome you to the Stonelaw High School website.
The purpose of the website is to give our parents and pupils an insight into the aims, the organisation and the general life of our School.
Stonelaw High School is one of 17 Secondary Schools throughout South Lanarkshire Council.
South Lanarkshire Council is the fifth largest authority in Scotland. It covers the following main areas: Clydesdale in the South which features extensive rural areas, Cambuslang, Rutherglen, Blantyre and Uddingston to the North as well as the towns of East Kilbride and Hamilton.
The Council's Plan Connect sets out the Council's Vision to improve the quality of life for all within South Lanarkshire.
For both Education Resources and our school this means delivering services of the highest quality as well as striving to narrow the gap between those who achieve and those who do not.
One of the factors which are crucial to the success of any school is the partnership which is established with parents, and my hope is that this will be a useful first source of information for those parents who are making contact with the school for the first time.
We are a school of approximately 1000 pupils and 72 full time staff. We offer a wide range of educational experiences from traditional subjects to the extensive range of extra curricular activities, school trips and visits. We strive to provide a consistently high standard of education for all our young people.
We have achieved a range of successes, winning national awards, gaining great success in many different fields. The majority of our leavers will go on to College, University while the rest will go on to employment and training. There are many opportunities for pupils to succeed both in the academic and wider life of the school.
I look forward to working with you. If you require any additional information please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
